About us

I hope that you will continue to be a valued patron of HeartSong!
The HeartSong Story
HeartSong Bookstore opened in November of 2006. The concept of HeartSong was birthed after the loss of our son, Joshua, the “Miracle Kid” in 2005. In his life, Josh taught EVERYONE he knew to never give up. Hence, HeartSong was born…
Jerry and I met in 1980 in the rooms of Narcotics Anonymous. Without a doubt, without NA, we would not be here. After raising 4 children and moving to Oregon, we launched HeartSong in downtown Grants Pass where it quickly became a “place to heal” for our customers.
From that time to today, our mission and purpose has been to support you in the journey on your paths of recovery. We did that by offering products, books and classes that enhanced that journey. After, we closed the store, we moved to an online platform and scaled the products exclusively to Narcotics Anonymous and became HeartSong Recovery.
Jerry Shapiro, my husband of almost 40 years went home December 15th, 2019 with 43 years clean. HeartSong was and is based on his hard-won experience, wisdom and integrity as one of our predecessors. His goal was to build a NA business model that abides by the core principles we practice as recovering addicts. This was the only way he conducted business. Since then, HeartSong Recovery has continued in his memory with the addition of Keddy and Casey Haines as business partners. Keddy and Casey bring the same qualities that HeartSong has always been known for, along with some exciting new products and services!
As always, you will continue to receive the same attention to detail and service that is our hallmark.

It is a PLEASURE to serve YOU!!
You are not dependent on us, we are dependent on you. You are our purpose and reason for being here. You are not an outsider to this business, you are a PART of it. We are not doing you a favor by serving you, rather, you are giving us the GIFT of serving you!
Many Blessings...
